ECHO SPUR

The residence at Echo Spur is as challenging of a design brief as one can receive for a single family home. The vacant parcel of land remained as one of the last buildable lots in Park City for a reason: Size -.04 acres. Slope - 25%+. Buildable width 18'-8". Buildable Area: 860 SF. And located in (arguably) the most restrictive municipality in the State of Utah.
Sited within a historic district yet serving as an end cap to a row of contemporary homes we sought a carefully considered hybrid that would celebrate the historic forms of Park City while incorporating a more modern aesthetic with both material choices and detailing. The challenges of the site drove the interior layout to be an open concept Kitchen, Living and Dining arrangement on the top floor which frames and celebrates views of iconic Park City ridgelines and historic Main Street. Custom steel trusses were designed in combination with a shallow framed roof in order to maintain maximum ceiling height within the zoning code.
